GW does have grind, but just for titles (lightbringer, etc.), and you don't need to do it to beat everything in the game.

Yep, I would love to see more grind, but not 'that' grind, you see, it would be fun to have a random quest npc generator, with a title related to that. It would be a means to get XP, Gold and a Title without having to FARM for it (aka SOLOING or reduced groups). I really miss something to do in PvE after you do all quests.
Also, it would be SO NICE to see extra-combat activities, like Mining, Fishing, Herb Gathering, Lumberjacking, etc, well all these things that you can do while you don't feel like killing things, because as the game is, if you don't want to kill things or run from things, you can either chat or press the red X and do something else.

When it's necessary, then it's grind.
When it's optional, well, then, it's replayability

To reiterate: My initial use of the word grind was probably wrong. Longevity or replayability would probably have been better. And I dont mean something that would interfere with the progression through the game as it but definetly something PvE based that could be done over and still be fun.

I dont mean disrespect, but I dont get the part that you want more grind, but you dont want to work for FOW armor

None taken. Jus because I would like something else to do doesnt mean I want to waste time (imo) on getting FoW, it does nothing for me

no way. i think ppl chose to play GW because theres is very almost no grind. i love the fact that every1 is equal in armor and weapons. the little amount of grind is what attracted me to gw in the first palce. there are already a lot of grinding games and i'm glad the gw team chose to make something different
if u want grind ur in the wrong game. try wow or lineage.

Both of those you pay for and i think the majority of players (myself included) came to guild wars because its a good game that you pay for once and is still a solely online game.
I understand that relying on new sales to fund a company means that theres not a lot of time to try new things or funding but i think that a random quest generator would be something that would benefit the community. I like questing, especially quests where you have to team up with real people because they are hard, but after completion of the game theres not really much incentive to go back and do them and teaming with people is almost non-existent at the moment as hero's serve so much better then people in many situations.

I like your idea too. I'm also concerned about the variety of gameplay that GW offers. It would be more interesting if there were more variety in terms of being able to achieve the same thing through different ways.
Anyway, back to the topic. Frankly speaking, rewards for grinding are always a good thing to have, as long as it's not forced on the players that they need to 'grind'; such as, 'grinding' for sunspear points to do primary quests in NF (that some in the forum have mentioned) just to advance in storyline.

I like grind a lot...I think they should make the EXP required for lvl 20 a lot higher. GW is too easy, everthing is too easy to get, you can buy anything you want...runs,skills,titles,items,fame...You can get to lvl 20 and have max armor within 9 hours(Cough make lvl reqs on armor) but...yeah....done here

No thanks.
Guildwars isn't about how long you play, it's about how you play.
Anyone can get to level 20, but as anyone who has played with in a pug knows; lvl20 means jack diddly. If they increased the level cap nothing would change in that respect.

Grind does not equal fun.

LOL. The whole game is based on doing the same thing over and over. You get 8 skill slots at a time to work with. You set them up for whatever zone you are heading into. You find a group of "bad guys", then commence to doing the same thing over and over again until you finish.
That is different from farming only because it has a game specified "goal" whereas in farming the goal is the drops. Either way you use the same handful of skills in the same way repeatedly until you get what you want. The only difference is one is potentially progressing through the game and the other is not. Chances are the farmer has already finished the game.
But back to the topic. The OP isn't suggesting that more "grind" be required, but rather optional if you want to get something spiffy that doesn't really affect gameplay -- like the more expensive armor sets we have now.
In other words you can do it if you want, but if you decide not to, it doesn't affect your ability to progress through the game in the least. We have that in the form of titles, armors, specific skins on items, and to some extent skill hunting now. However, there's nothing wrong IMHO with providing the option to go for more of these things as long as it's not required.

GW has a decent grind now. I don't think anything needs to be added to it.
I know some players like to believe that GW is all skill over time.
But running the same build (or team configurations) over and over to gain Rank and Glad Points is not skill, it's grinding.
FOW armor and titles are a grind.
Getting your old chars thru Elona and leveling up and outfitting all their heroes will take a long time.
Getting your new chars thru NF, Proph and Factions will also take a long time.
Once you've got a few titles per character and they've been everywhere and have max lvl heroes with good equipment and you have FoW on a few chars too come ask for more grind... well, by then the next chapter will be out.

If by more grind, you mean more titles, rare armors, and ways to far that can get you more than 1k per run so we can accually have money to buy stuff for a change, then yes, please add them because they will make the game better.
If you mean more grind as in the sunspear points, then no way. Go play just about any other mmo for that. I play GW to get away from grind like that.
And igami ito, that is grind. Having to spend at least that much time for every one of your characters to repeatedly kill things in one area is grind. It might not be the extreme grind of games like WoW that you are refering to, but it is still grind.
Oh, and before anyone comments on why I support things like titles and money, but not things like the sunspear points, it's because you don't need titles or money. You can beat the game without having titles and rare armors, and very little money, but you can't get past the sunspear points that you have to get to go on to the next primary quest. Basically, I mean this...

Agreed, added grind is welcome as long as it is not a necessity to complete the game.

I would love to see a mini pet of some sort obtained through grind as the OP stated. Perhaps different ones become unlockable as you complete tasks...collecting certain resources in various areas say that you would trade in for them...this could open up new tradable/money resources akin to ecto as well.
